HVO is excited to host the Annual gathering at Sidhhachalam on October 6, 2012, and 7th if you want to stay overnight at this beautiful religious location surrounded by nature. You will find so much peace of mind just by being on this land and will rejuvenate yourself for the year. We are also looking for judges for the competition. No family member of the judge can participate in the above competitions. Please contact one of us ASAP if you would like to be the judge. It could be 1 judge for both or 2 different judges for each competition.

Drawing Competition for Junior Oshwalites
India is a Land of Festivals…and Festivals form an integral part of our lives and are characterized by color, music, dancing, food, lights, prayers, enthusiasm and celebration. Though miles away from our homeland, we still hold the festivals close to our Hearts…This Fall, let’s celebrate the colorful Spirit of India at the HVO meet at Siddhachalam on the 6th of October 2012.
Also, let’s use this opportunity to introduce our children to the rich culture and heritage of India. HVO thus presents the “Festivals of India” drawing Competition for Junior Oshwalites. The details of the competition are mentioned below:
Age Group: 5 – 12yrs
Theme: Festivals of India
The theme is vast and children can choose from any of the festivals from Diwali, Dusshera, Paryushan, Ganesh-Chaturthi, Holi, Dahi Handi(Gokul Asthami), Rakshbandhan, Onam, Pongal, Lohri, Christmas, Easter or any other festival. They are free to use their imagination & creativity. Participants will be provided with the drawing paper (Size: 12” x 18.”). They are expected to bring their own drawing boards(hard base), pen, pencil, erasers, sharpener, colors and other stationary. They can choose to use any kind of colors like wax crayons, oil pastels, watercolors, pencil colors, markers, etc. They can also use any decoration material, stickers, borders,etc. to enhance it’s looks.
Timing: 1.00pm – 3.00 pm
Age Group: Below 5yrs
Theme: Join-the-Dots & Color Me!
For the Younger Oshwalites below age 5, we will be providing them with Join – the- Dots – picture and they have to color them. The image of the picture will be emailed to enrolled participants in advance. And though it’s a coloring contest, children aren’t limited to just colors. The can use whatever you have around the house to decorate the page. They could use pop tabs, buttons, toothpicks, old newspapers, tissue. Creativity counts! Parents please ensure to carry the pencils, drawing boards(hard base), colors, glue and other materials along.
Timing: 1.00pm – 3.00 pm
Note :- We have announced the topic in advance so that children can research, practice, and seek help from their parents or grandparents. Please have your child come prepared.

Rangoli Competition for Adult Oshwalites
Keeping the Festive Season in mind we announce the Rangoli Competition for the Ladies… You can choose to do any kind of Rangoli…Color (Sand colors or any other), Water, Flower, Chokha(Rice), Divas/Candles, or any other type of Rangoli that you may want to…there is no restriction on the use of materials, type or theme…so put your best foot forward and let your imagination loose…create any design that you can think of…! Participants have to bring their own materials. (We can provide foam base for Color Rangoli if required at an extra cost of $2. Participations need to let us know in advance if they require us to get the foam base.)
Timing: 1.30-pm to 3.00 pm.
Please note that the last day to send all your entries is: 30th September 2012.
Prizes will be announced at the Oshwal Meet.
The Art work of the participants will be displayed to all during the evening.
